Katie Rivkind graduated from California State University at Fullerton in 2001 with a MS in Counseling. She was active in the CSU at Fullerton Counseling Association. After completion of her Master's degree, she went on to pursue her interships hours at local non-profit agencies and a private practice in Santa Ana. She worked with underserved populations, victims of crime, and individuals and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, communication and anger problems, loss and trauma. She was awarded her License as an Marriage and Family Therapist in 2006. Since that time she has held a private practice in Tustin providing couples therapy, individual therapy, counseling and parenting education.
While Katie Rivkind is enthusiastic about helping individuals, couples and families have happier and healtheir lives, she also believes in giving back to her professional community. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chapter of the California Association of Marraige and Family Therapists for the past six years. She served as Membership Chairperson for three years and gave presentations throughout the Orange County MFT community and local universites on behalf of the Orange County Chapter of CAMFT. She went on to serve as President Elect in 2010 and President in 2011. As President she worked with the Board of Directors to serve its members by providing opportunites for education and networking. She is currently serviing as Past President.
Katie Rivkind was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Leader Award in 2011 by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She has also earned several Outstanding Board Member awards throughout her six year committment to the association. Additionally, Katie Rivkind, is a Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Katie Rivkind has additionally worked extensively with adolescents and teens stuggling with anxiety, suicidal thoughts, depressions, defiance, ADHD and aggression.
